This was my third stay at Lucerna. My wife and I have stayed at several of the so-called "luxury" hotels in Mexicali before deciding that the Lucerna had it all and at a reasonable price. We will always stay at the Lucerna when visiting Mexicali (where my wife was born and has many relatives including her mother, brothers and sisters, and two adult children), even if the other hotel offered us accommodations at no charge! That's how strongly we feel about the Lucerna!
Although it's perfectly understandable, we were a tad disappointed that the fabulous Mezzosole restaurant (on the premises) was closed on Sundays, the day we arrived. The Lucerna management quickly (and cheerfully) extended our check-out time to allow us to have lunch at Mezzosole before our departure on Monday. And, a fabulous lunch it was! (I lived all of my adult life in New York City working as an investment banker....I Know good food when I see and taste it!)

Superfriendly staff who cared about me. The location was unbeatable, close to Caliente. Took a walk around city center, located within a close distance from the hotel.
Some people working there were very busy.

This time it was not good at all, last time that we got a room it was better , clean and good aircondition, breatkfast was included, but this time was over price, bad service, and not very clean
This time the air conditionig was not working properly, and it was to hot, it was trash under the beds, and they never bring the fruit basket that they told us that was included with the room, I did not like the service this time, and the price is very expensive and the breaktfast is no that good and it cost alot, is over price the hotel and the food.

What I liked the best from the hotel was the cabanas by the pool. It gave it a sense of a resort rather than a hotel.
